Documentary about the Black Cave of Caravaca in the Municipal Archaeological Museum (21/02/2013)

Today Thursday, February 21, at 20 am, will be screened at the Municipal Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro animated documentary film Black Cave, by the Integra Foundation.

La Cueva Negra is an important paleontological site located in the Strait Quípar River, within the city of Caravaca, and in which remains have been found dating back almost a million years.

The document takes the viewer to the Murcia region of nearly a million years, recreating the area where the reservoir, whose discoveries have provided scientific basis for the development of the audiovisual work.

During his 30-minute film was shown how the habitat of the area, which revealed the presence of wildlife species now extinct, and describes in a very pleasant and easy as was the way of life in pre-Neanderthals that time.

After the projection, and with the collaboration of the Association for the Study Murciana of Paleoanthropology and Quaternary, will be held a symposium moderated by Mariano López Martínez (archaeologist and co-director of excavations at the Black Cave) and will assistance from Antonio López Jiménez (biologist), Ignacio Martin Lerma (archaeologist) and Jose Ignacio Manteca (geologist).

Entry is free, first-served basis.
