The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, today inaugurated the general sewage collector of the population of Los Camachos Cartagena.
This infrastructure will serve a population of a hundred people, whose homes will be connected to the sewage wastewater.
The new collector, which runs along the main street of the town, is 2.5 kilometers long and connects with the emissary of The Camachos Industrial Estate, to bring water to the treatment plant Beaza Cabezo where "receive proper treatment for be reused ".
The works have received an investment of 425,000 euros, financed by 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
For its part, the City of Cartagena have run the sewage of the district and rushes home to put into service works.
The head of the regional government of Water stressed that this action "give continuity to the actions we are developing to address the lack of sanitation and treatment facilities that have the small towns."
As indicated, "it is our intention that all citizens of the towns, however small, have a sanitation infrastructure and water treatment," said the director, adding that "not a drop of water ceases to be treated and reclaimed for irrigation. "
The rainwater collector of Algar
The owner of Agriculture and Water and the Mayor of Cartagena Collector also inaugurated spillway storm of El Algar, which will help drive down the sewer water washing by rain and prevent street flooding.
This infrastructure has a length of 620 meters and runs from the road to Los Urrutias Algar to the grounds of the former sewage.
The investment in this infrastructure is 230,505 euros, funded 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
