The Bureau of Markets of the City of Cartagena was published today on the internet bulletin board an edict requiring the holders of 125 posts of different markets, both annual and seasonal, to settle their debts with the municipal treasury , prior to the renewal of their licenses.
As you may recall last December 5 Local Government Board agreed to extend the licenses of markets, 2012, provided that the owners were found to date in the payment of all municipal taxes (fees, public fees and taxes) or if of absences,'d conveniently justified.
The reason for this renovation was the judgment of the Constitutional Court of July 2012 declaring the unconstitutionality of the current state legislation on vending, the invading powers of the autonomous communities.
Since the City Council could not make a new call for the award until the Autonomous adopt its own rules, it was decided to extend the current license and meet the resignation or low penalty with vendors included in the waiting list of the last edition
On 25 January, the Governing Board agreed not to renew the holders of 90 posts for not adequately justified its low.
Now the process will be completed with the low of holders within 15 days from the publication of the edict, not pay their debts.
