The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, visit on Thursday January 31 and Friday February 1st International Tourism Fair (FITUR) which has started in the day today and will continue until Sunday 3 February in Madrid.
On the occasion of his visit, Barreiro sign tomorrow an agreement with the President of RENFE, Julio Gómez-Pomar, at the stand of the Spanish operator at noon. The objective of this measure is to promote the city as a tourist destination.
This initiative is complemented by the inclusion of the city of Cartagena on the Mediterranean railway corridor, as announced last December the Minister of Development, Ana Pastor.
A second agreement will be signed in the day on Friday 1 February at 10.00 hours, but this time with an eye toward promoting senior tourism in the region. Mayor, j unto the Institute of Tourism Region and the municipalities of San Javier, San Javier and Los Alcazares initialed a new agreement to turn the area of Mar Menor and La Manga in European tourism destinations for over 55 years.
In addition, at 12.00, the Secretary of State for Tourism deliver to the mayor the 12 quality certificates granted to the beaches of Cartagena. The event takes place on the first floor of the IFEMA Convention Centre.
ITALIAN TOUR OPERATORS VISIT TO CARTAGENA
Also, within the section of Cartagena tourism promotion, on Monday January 28, twenty Italian agencies visited the city in order to meet and heritage tourism resources of Cartagena.
The Fam Trip (familiarization trip) was organized by the agency Asquía of Orihuela (Valencia).
During their stay, they visited the Palace Hall, the Roman theater, the NH Cartagena, Alfonso XIII and H Cartagonova.
The various tourist attractions of the city agencies surprised again in a short period of time to work on the various tour packages to offer to their customers.
