The Ministry is designing an exhibition and a website to publicize the cultural heritage and raise awareness on the protection of underwater heritage

The Secretary of State for Culture, Jose Maria Lassalle, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz, the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro and government delegate, Joaquin Bascuñana, have visited the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology , ARQUA, where they are carrying out restoration processes of cultural flotsam of Our Lady of Mercy, in ARQUAtec.
Aided Museum director, Xavier Nieto, have been informed of the state of conservation of the collections and the pace of work in restoration.
From arrival to ARQUA, Dec. 3, the bulk of the cargo, we have proceeded to their classification by the condition.
There have also been various trials on the treatment to be applied to the coins, although it has been announced that next month will be held in February ARQUA a meeting of national and international experts to determine the optimal treatment to be used in these goods.
On this visit, Secretary of State for Culture has confirmed that by the end of the year will open an exhibition in ARQUA around coins and objects carrying the Mercedes.
This shows, according to the Communication Strategy and Cultural Cooperation being developed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, will travel later by the Autonomous Communities that are interested, and will be made available to Spanish and foreign institutions.

This is to facilitate access to knowledge of this important heritage, while awareness on the protection of underwater cultural heritage.
It expects to publish this website in the second half of the year.
Visit the Roman Forum Pinwheel, National Award for Restoration and Conservation 2012
In the afternoon, the Secretary of State for Culture continues its agenda in Cartagena visiting the Roman Theatre and the Museum Quarter Pinwheel Roman Forum.
The latter distinction was the subject of last year with the National Award for Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Property, awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
The National Award for Restoration and Conservation is a recognition of the quality of a multidisciplinary intervention including archaeological research, restoration of cultural property set musealization and dissemination, with an important component of social participation.
The jury ruled this award, on November 30, said the comprehensive nature of the intervention, which represents the contribution to urban regeneration and economic development in an urban area, as well as joint composition of the team that made the project .
Members who participated in the team will be present to visit the neighborhood.
