The Civic Centre was the venue chosen Aljorra, on Saturday January 19 for the XVIII Meeting of crews, with the collaboration of the City Council and the Provincial Cartagena.
Gang Aljorra was accompanied on this important day for the gang of Auroros of Lorca, the Gang Caves Reyllo The Mills Gang Gang Marfagones and Tallante.
Councilman Sports City of Cartagena, Diego Ortega, came to this meeting with his group of popular Marfagones Molinos.
The music was again the protagonist once again in the hands of these musical groups typical of Campo de Cartagena, coming cartageneros delighting neighbors with these songs since last Christmas.
The dance also plays an important role during these meetings as this traditional music accompanied by traditional dances such as jacks, malagueñas or partying.
PRESERVING THE TRADITIONAL MUSIC
Gangs are groups of amateur musicians who are dedicated to preserving traditional music. Usually consist of about 10 musicians and a dash or troubadour.
The instruments used are strings (guitar, guitarro, lute, mandolin and fiddle) and percussion (tambourine, cymbals, cane and fake or castanets), and treated mainly religious themes, themes of place or compliments or criticizes acquaintances, but always with a laugh, with irony and without malice.
