On Tuesday 15 January saw the closing and delivery of certificates to the 44 participants of the latest edition of the Training Workshop for Active Citizenship, organized by the I nstitute Municipal Social Services City of Cartagena.
The event was attended by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, technicians and immigration department, responsible for Columbares Association and President of the neighborhood of La Aljorra.
This course, conducted in the last quarter of last year, has been aimed at the immigrant population of the city.
Classes are taught by experts from the Institute of Municipal Social Services. Their content has revolved around the following topics: City and Violence in Neighborhoods, the Municipal Social Services, Women, Training and Employment, Health System, Educational System and Organization Politics of Spain and the European Union.
Promote social cohesion and coexistence in the country, is the goal of this training that has been going on in two locations Cartagena, the Los Dolores and La Aljorra, and has had a workload of 16 hours spread over eight sessions.
People who have attended are mostly male, aged between 30 and 40 years, with an average stay of five years in Spain and from Morocco and Colombia.
The workshops complement other actions from the Department of Social Services are developed in the area. Such actions with the involvement and cooperation of social partners and groups in the area, thereby obtaining an important networking.
