San Antón dresses to bless animals (17/01/2013)

The neighborhood of San Antón Cartagena faces over their working day more important, coinciding with the c elebración the feast of its patron. The mayor of the city, Pilar Barreiro, and members of the municipal corporation l have been present for the blessing of animals and subsequent Vermouth dancing.

The celebrations began at eight, with traditional flowery target.

However, the most important hours were experienced at midmorning. At s eleven, marked the start of mass in honor of the patron saint and after her, the popular animal blessing.

Hundreds of residents flocked to the square of the Church with their pets, dogs, ducks, or even reptiles, eagerly awaited the moment of players for a few minutes.

But first, the parade of horses and carriages that have delighted the audience by showing runs in circles and elegance. Town's mayor and members of his government team have been delivered to the participants of various trophies as a symbol of gratitude for participation.

And after that, security fences placed by the local police parted and gave way to the crowd of neighbors, young and old, who wanted to bless their pets. Immediately afterwards, in the neighborhood clubhouse, was beginning the Big Dance of Vermouth. Nakar Entertained by the group, the more daring have come to the dance floor, and either alone or in pairs, have been carried away by the rhythm of the music.

But the big day of San Anton is still ongoing.

And, at 18.00, the patron saint procession will travel in the most emblematic streets of Cartagena neighborhood.

And to round off this day, from 18.30 hours, is programmed a new dance duet Nakar hand, in the clubhouse.

The official opening of the celebrations took place on Friday 11 January with the activities of Magic and comedy for children and costume party.

During these days, the traditional dishes of octopus from the bars in the area have flooded the streets of the neighborhood

The festivities conclude on Sunday January 20 with the display of martial arts, paella solidarity with donation to the Good Samaritan and the closing dance in the social, organized by the pilgrims of San Antón.
