The Cartagena Diego Fructuoso has been appointed ambassador this morning to honor La Manga Club.

The sailor was accompanied at the ceremony by the Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina, the president of Real Racing Club Cartagena, Miguel à ngel Celdran, and the head of Sports at La Manga Club, José Moya.

The famous sailor, who took part in the eleventh edition of the Volvo Ocean Race, the award and thanked those present commented that bear the mark of the Region of Murcia in different ocean voyages. And, on Saturday put Mapfre Challenge course to try to set the path to Columbus.

Also, taking advantage of the celebration of the City of Cartagena Trophy in May 2013, Fructuoso announced the intention of holding a candle campus for children. A collation of this initiative, the Cartagena councilor added that thanks to this joining of forces between institutions, the tradition of sailing in Cartagena continues inculcating among the smallest.

It has also highlighted the significant national and international projection of Diego Fructuoso which will enable the promotion of stronger resort in the region as the candle is always supported by good weather conditions offered by the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea.
