On Saturday January 19th marks the XVIII Meeting Aljorra gangs, whose organization collaborating event in the City and the Neighborhood Council of Cartagena deputation.
This year, the event will feature, in addition to the gang Aljorra, Los Auroros of Lorca, the Gang Reyllo Caves, the Mills Gang Gang Marfagones and Tallante.
The meeting will start at 16.00 hours and will be held at the Civic Centre Aljorra.
PRESERVING THE TRADITIONAL MUSIC
Gangs are groups of amateur musicians who are dedicated to preserving traditional music.
Usually consist of about 10 musicians and a dash or troubadour.
The instruments used are strings (guitar, guitarro, lute, mandolin and fiddle) and percussion (tambourine, cymbals, cane and fake or castanets), and treated mainly religious themes, themes of place or compliments or criticizes acquaintances, but always with a laugh, with irony and without malice.
