The City of Cartagena collected during the months of October, November and December 2012, a total of 22,539 tons of clothes, shoes and toys, in the twenty-five containers were installed in public by the Department of Environment last month October and those in the two municipal recycling centers.
Waste deposited in such containers are collected by the Association Abraham Project, under the collaboration agreement that the organization signed with the City of Cartagena last summer.
Recovered materials have been used to sell in the different stores that Abraham Project Association has in the region of Murcia, while unusable garments were sent to recycling plants that used as feedstock.
The economic benefits of this partnership are allocated to cover the costs of the various projects of social intervention is underway.
