On Thursday January 10, at 13.30 pm, a bicycle will be raffled among the 460 participants in the briefings on recycling household waste. The bike has been donated by Ecoembes and the draw will be held in the Press Room Palace Hall. The event will be attended by the Councillor for Tourism and Environment, Palazón Carolina.
The last October began this communication campaign organized jointly by the city of Cartagena and Ecoembes, in collaboration with the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of the city, which has since had a presence on billboards, local radio, press and digital media.
The campaign also had a direct and personal side, by holding talks in 28 social local municipality. Their goal has been to improve the recycling of packaging paper and light cardboard, trying to avoid the improper number in the blue and yellow.
In recent years, the number of recycled Cartagena has grown and the level of awareness, in part, by increasing the number of containers.
Just off the 107 tonnes of lightweight containers that were collected and n 2001, in 2011 it was the 2484 tonnes. Paperboard has reached 1822 tons in 2001, the 3758, 2011, and in glass, the 1026 tonnes in 2001, to 2555 in 2011.
Altogether during these 11 years have collected 22,626 tons of glass, cardboard paper 39,205, and 21,279 containers.
