The neighborhood of San Antón cartagenero added on Tuesday December 18 to commemorate the Day of the Migrant with numerous activities attended by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
The president of the neighborhood association, José Luis Hernández Forest was in charge of welcoming those present, then projecting the film, At the gates of Paris, and Marta Fernandez Joxean Oven.
The film takes the viewer to the Paris of the sixties to relive the experiences of several Spanish women who had to migrate to work as porter in buildings.
Later, Maria Madrid, Isidoro Cañete, Fermina Lorente, José Antonio Madrid, Isabel V.
Melero, M ª Carmen Julian, Antonia Carrasco, Yamil Espinoza and Jose Heredia, members of the Senior Citizens Club Cartagena read the stories they had written about their migration experiences.
The day ended with the presentation of certificates of stories of this event to all participants by the president of the neighborhood association and the Councillor for Social Care.
These activities held in the Casino Cultural de San Antón, were organized by the Municipal Council of Social Services, CEPAIM Foundation, the NGO and all associations Accem Coordinadora del Barrio San Antón.
