To see video clips of a band simply by pointing your smartphone to the cover of an album or a poster on a marquee, find the best location for a table in the living room of your home without having to hang or access content multimedia when you read the newspaper or magazine.
The project Cloud Hub Incubator of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has entered fully into the world of augmented reality Braingapps hand.
This cutting edge technology is poised to become the next revolution in mobile applications.
Braingapps was created a few months ago during the inaugural Cloud Hub Incubator, a project backed UPCT the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, which has created a year twenty startups formed by technology entrepreneurs who base their business on the developing applications for smart phones and tablets.
Augmented reality allows endless possibilities thanks to the combination of virtual elements onto a real physical environment, creating a mixed reality that can be viewed instantly on mobile devices.
"The user experience is quite impressive, and it's like having an open window to a virtual reality content rich," says Julien Bonomo, CEO of Braingapps.
The scope of this new technology is very broad: Industry, Marketing and Advertising, Games, Tourism, Education.
What is Augmented Reality?
Augmented reality operates as follows.
Is created on the computer a digital object: for example, a three-dimensional model of a yacht, a tower of wind generation, a lamp, a TV or a cartoon character.
This object is assigned a real physical marker, which is printed on a business card or printed on any surface you want.
And from there, simply by pointing the camera of the mobile device to the marker appears on the screen that integrated model in real environment, the user can see the angle desired by moving the marker or turning around.
"It's a revolution in the way we view information directly from our physical environment rather than through an interface. With the help of this latest technology, information on the real world around the user becomes interactive and digitally," says Manuel Carbonell, other computer components.
Braingapps studio has a fully equipped development projects in the Cloud Incubator Hub headquarters, located in the Center of Technological Development and Innovation to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has in the Parque Tecnológico de Fuente Alamo.
Braingapps has launched since its inception several apps that have earned tens of thousands of downloads.
Braingapps activity is divided between services and technological developments to companies that develop applications for major international markets for Smartphones (like Google Play or the App Store).
The startup is formed by Julien Bonomo, Manuel Carbonell Aviles, Jose Javier Perez and Carlos Costa Abellán Alejandro de la Rosa and now investors are looking to increase our workforce so we can launch innovative products in various markets worldwide.
