The Cultural Circle El Algar has organized for Christmas 2012, a pioneering activity in the municipality: elaborate Christmas decorations from recycled materials such as bottles of soft drinks, beer, bottled water and oil.
In addition, this initiative complements and l first Living Nativity, with a total of 12 seats, will be performed on 27th December at 19.30 in the Plaza of the Church of Our Lady of the Plains and the adjoining streets.
Since last October, Cultural Circle members, mainly youths in the area have been working on this initiative.
And, the association has worked as a collection point for all residents could deposit the packaging that would be built later the stars, wreaths, Christmas trees and bells that they hang from the streets of El Algar.
One of the organizers of the activity, Juana Maria Bravo, said that this year only the streets leading to the Apollo Theater Circus Square and the Church of Our Lady of the Plains are adorned.
For this reason, the vice president of the Cultural Circle, Alejandro Martinez, has stressed that he expects Christmas 2013 to participate more neighbors and thus increase the number of decorated streets.
