The Municipal Commission of Voluntary Commitment Award, chaired by Councilman Antonio Calderon IV granted the award to the voluntary commitment to the Porte Adelaide Rivers, religious of the Holy Family of Bordeaux Cartagena, also known as Sister Nieves.
This award recognizes the career of Adelaide whose volunteer work has always been focused on helping neighborhoods where there is a high risk of social exclusion.
Specifically, working with the project called Jaloque belonging to Caritas and aims at social integration of women in the neighborhood of Los Mateos.
Municipal Volunteer Program of the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, with these awards aim to reward joint activity of all those who work selflessly for the people or vulnerable areas and promoting volunteerism in social and the development of social projects in the town of Cartagena.
The award, now in its fourth year, will be delivered on Monday December 10, at 20.00 pm in the Cultural Hall of the CAM, on Main Street.
The last year fell to Francisco Martinez Diaz, president of the Foundation Shop Asylum San Pedro, died a few days ago.
