The Council focuses on training as a key to find work (10/12/2012)

The City Council does not start businesses or companies, creates conditions so that they can set up businesses or companies, and this training is essential, have now risen one rung on the ladder of training to try to find a job .

With these words, the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, was congratulated and encouraged the forty students Employment Workshop Casa Mayor of ALDE, that after a year of training and education, have received their diplomas today.

The diploma ceremony, also attended by the Councillor for Employment, Diego Ortega, the Social Care mayor, Antonio Calderon and CEO of SEF (Employment and Training Service), Ginés Martínez, who pointed out that after accompany these women during their training, would now helping them find a job in the shortest time possible.

Employment Workshop Casa Mayor, which aims to train 40 unemployed for a year to enter the job market, is funded by the Agency for Local Development and Employment Cartagena City Council, the Regional Employment and Training of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Ministry of Employment and Social Security and the European Union, through the European Social Fund.

Employment Workshops are included in measures to support job creation and configured as a mixed program of employment and training targeted at unemployed 25 to 54 years.

Participating workers acquire vocational training and employment practice by performing work or services of public utility or social interest related to new sources of employment, allowing its subsequent employment for others as well by creating business projects or social economy.

The participants in the Workshop on Employment Mayor House have formed in two specialties: 20 people in geriatric care for dependents in social institutions and the other 20 in geriatric care to people at home.

His life has been of 1,920 hours, including theoretical and work practices that have developed in the old people's Virgen del Mar and the Home Care Service of the City of Cartagena.

To realize the ALDE has signed cooperation agreements with the Messengers of Peace Association and the Municipal Social Services.

In addition to specific training in the care for dependents, has also imparted training in risk prevention, information, gender equality, environmental awareness, job search and entrepreneurship.

The ALDE, besides promoting this project, the students hire workers and managers and teachers of it and organize and oversee its development, supports the employability of participants through the project presentation to companies in the sector dependent care and signing cooperation agreements for the end of the workshop, people who wish to engage in practices in these companies, with a view to hiring.

Specifically this year have signed agreements with the Senior Residences Los Almendros, House, The Marines, Care, Santa Ana and Carmen Zamora, as well as with the company Home Care Family Respite.
