The project of restoration and conservation of Roman Forum Pinwheel neighborhood of Cartagena has won National Award for Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Property, worth 30,000 euros.
The jury, chaired by Jesus Prieto, Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets, has granted this award in recognition of the quality of a multidisciplinary intervention including archaeological research, restoration of cultural property set musealization and dissemination, an important component of social participation. "
They have also emphasized the comprehensive nature of the intervention, which represents the contribution to urban regeneration and economic development in an urban area, as well as joint composition of the team that made ​​the project.
The National Award for Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage was established in 1994 and since then is given annually by the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets, Archives and Libraries of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, to reward individuals or institutions for their works or active participation in the field of restoration and conservation, contribute to enriching the cultural heritage of Spain.
