This afternoon has become the Palace Hall Local Board for Coordination and Monitoring of Gender Violence.
The meeting was chaired by the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, who has encouraged the agency representatives convened to make an effort to make things easier for the women who report abuse.
As explained by the Councillor for Women, Clara Heredia, this initiative is aimed at helping different groups of society to know where to turn when they become aware of any cases of gender violence.
It involves, beside woman, the departments of Youth, Education and Social Affairs and other entities involved in monitoring cases of violence as police, health centers, employment service and Schools.
Clara Heredia stated that the board will meet periodically, every three months.
The next meeting is scheduled for February 27.
In today, the Victim Services Center of Gender Violence (CAVI) has submitted a protocol that is to be analyzed by the remaining board members.
The aim of this paper is to facilitate communication between the different entities, facilitating rapid actions and avoid, for example, that victims must testify four times, said the councilor.
Heredia also pointed out that thanks to the work to be performed, the victims take the step and increasingly reported.
This year of the 197 who have come for the first time, 112 have completed denouncing.
We also discussed the changing profile of the victims, getting younger, so it has highlighted the importance of engaging in this fight to schools.
