About 400 kids participate in this initiative on Friday organized by the Repsol Foundation in collaboration with the City Council, which aims to raise awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities encounter in their daily lives
In order to bring society adapted sports and raise awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities overcome through sport, the Repsol Foundation has organized, with the cooperation of the City, the Games for Integration, which will place on Friday 16 November in the port area and Heroes of Cavite.
This initiative, which has already made ​​stops in Tarragona, Madrid and Puertollano, involves the installation of sports facilities in public places, where you can practice nine specialties adapted, so that everyone who wants to can practice them with athletes disabilities in the same circumstances.
These sports like wheelchair basketball, football, wheelchair hockey, fencing, skiing, cycling, wheelchair badminton, table tennis and wheelchair boccia, a form, the latter, similar to bowls designed exclusively for people with disabilities.
About 400 children from different schools in Cartagena participate in this conference, which opens at 11 am, in a ceremony to be held next to the ladder and will be attended by the aldermen of Sports, José Cabezos, and Social Care, Antonio Calderon, along with representatives of Repsol Foundation and the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Physically Disabled.
