The
Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, will chair this evening, at 19 pm, the act of nomination of Carmelo Sanz Master Square Housing Development Gomariz Mediterranean.
The event will be held at 19 pm and will also feature the presence of Decentralization area councilor, Ã ngel Nicolas Bernal, President of the Neighborhood Association, Sebastian Garcia, along with the family of the honoree, now deceased, and neighbors neighborhood that have driven this tribute.
The square bearing the name of this neighbor and school teacher, much loved and remembered by generations of students who passed through his classroom, is a public space located between the streets Gem, Sapphire and Coral, which was recently remodeled by the City as a recreational area.
Carmelo Gomariz Sanz was born in Murcia in 1906.
National Master, had its first destination in Cartagena, in the Schools of Miranda.
In 1962 he moved to the graduate schools of San Antonio Abad, in the neighborhood known as El Cuco, where he taught until his retirement.
The teacher always Carmelo out for his total dedication to teaching, which proved to be a great teacher and connoisseur of the skills and needs of their students.
Taught in addition to his knowledge, his poise and his selfless dedication, so always enjoyed the respect, appreciation and admiration of students, parents and peers.
Along with other neighbors was one of the founders of the Association of Private Mediterranean neighbors in 1972, of which he was secretary until 1978.
He was also one of the creators of the parish of Our Lady of Hope of Urbanization Mediterranean.
Carmelo Gomariz Sanz died in 1986.
26 years later, those who were his students and neighbors still remember him as a good and kind person who did much for the development of the neighborhood in which he lived.
