Our desire is to eradicate truancy.
With those words, the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, reported this morning that the campaign being carried from the Department to mitigate absenteeism is giving excellent results.
So far this year, the truancy rate has fallen by 0.7%.

In addition, the municipality has been divided into several work units, with each educator who is responsible for tracking each of the open cases and facilitate the involvement of these students when they reach compulsory secondary education (ESO ).
Intervention to eliminate truancy coordination entails, first, with schools and then between the various municipal services working for the welfare of society as are the Councils of Social Service and Public Safety, the latter Section through the Judicial Police and Social Protection, there almost daily contact in establishing action strategies.
When the proceedings are not getting the desired results, records are forwarded to the Office of Cartagena, where relevant actions performed to achieve the incorporation of students to their schools.
