Local Police Cartagena this summer has found a decline in the number of criminal offenses on robbery and theft, over the same period last year.
During the months of July and August there have been a total of 98 interventions: 34 interventions unless the same months of 2011, representing a decline of 25 percent.
As for violations of municipal ordinances, also observed a decrease of 16 percent, with a total of 223 offenses, 44 offenses less than in 2011.
The most significant difference occurred in the number of violations of public safety ordinance, down 38 percent, 55 offenses less than during the previous year which recorded 142 violations.
During this period of July and August, also dropped the bottle by increased police presence and illegal street trading markets.
The most significant differences occurred in traffic accidents with a decrease from the previous year as 22 percent, with a total of 374 interventions by accidents, 108 interventions less than in 2011.
During this summer, especially in tourist areas the local police has expanded its number of devices in order to avoid increasing incidents related to crimes, misdemeanors, traffic accidents or violations of ordinances.
Among the many operational measures taken by the local police during these months, you have to highlight the start of the new controls in establishments, consumption and trade, and the increase in the number of traffic controls, alcohol, documentation or markets, with a total of 470 controls, 81 controls in the summer of 2011, representing an increase of 17 percent.
The device, which has been extended until the first half of September, during this period has ensured the safety of citizens, providing continuous service to vacationers for 24 hours a day, as noted by the Councillor for Public Safety, Mariano García Asensio.
