The sailor Antonio Lopez Montoya, Real Racing Club Cartagena, won the championship of Europe of Nations, in the Optimist class, teaming with the Spanish team comprising sailors Luis Cabrera, Alfonso Fernandez Huidobro and Maria Manuela Bover .
The national team achieved the title this Saturday, August 25, in Italian waters of Lake Ledro Spain won the victory after defeating Russia in the final of Eastern Europe, which brought together sixteen countries.
Spain agreed to the final, after defeating the Netherlands quarterfinals, beating the hosts, Italy in semifinals.
Lopez Montoya faces his final season in Optimist class, since it has 13.
In his short career highlights the triumph in the first edition Optimist Excellence Cup 2011 trophy that includes five events throughout the country: Trofeo Ciudad de Torrevieja, Trofeu Vila de Palamos; Week Atlantic Trofeo Ciutat de Palma Trophy Aetius, played in late December 2011 in waters of Gran Canaria.
