The Brotherhood of Romeros de San Ginés de la Jara is still committed to cross borders, and this year, the XXIX edition of the Pilgrimage of San Gines, which takes place on Saturday 18 August, with the participation of pilgrims from Alicante and Jaén, in addition to the Region of Murcia, for an event with the collaboration of the City and a good list of companies and businesses in the city.
Councillor for Festivities, Florentina Garcia Vargas, who plans to participate in the pilgrimage, today showed its appreciation for the work and the work of members of the Brotherhood to take this one year more traditional pilgrimage to the streets, despite hard times running, and did so for the presentation of it, in which he accompanied the Big Brother of the Pilgrims of San Gines, Andrew Garcia, and Secretary, Toni Garcia.
The pilgrimage is a journey of living open to everyone, Andres Garcia claimed, do not come in uniform or have horse or cart, just enthusiasm and desire to share this event.
With this premise, the Brother of the Romeros extended the invitation to all citizens.
The Carthaginians and Romans enclosure next to the stadium Cartagonova, will be the gathering place in the early hours of Saturday morning, the pilgrims, carts, carriages and horses, to go to the church of Charity, where at 8, 15 hours will take place a wreath and mass of the patron.
Then there will be stops at the Church of San Ginés, lunch at La Aparecida, paella after arrival at the Chapel of Roche and back, stopping in Los Camachos for refreshments and festive arrival will Carthaginians and Romans, where after a romera sung Mass, at 21.00 hours, there will be a great festival with live Rociero Soul Choir and Solera and the Chorus and Dance Group Our Lady of Sorrows.
EVENTS IN HONOR OF SAN GINA S ‰
In addition to the pilgrimage of the 18th, the San Ginés celebrate the feast of the patron with activities taking place on 24 and 25 August.
These events begin and l Friday 24, at 20.30 hours, parade and offering of flowers, followed by the opening speech by Rafael Ruiz Butter, an act that attend District Councillor, Juan Jose Martinez.
On Saturday 25, the feast of San Gines, will hold a mass in honor of the patron and then the holy procession along Avenida de la Cierva engineer until arrival at the Church of San Gines.
