For three days, the town hall square and the door of the Church of Isla Plana, will become the scene of dozens of troubadours.
The festival Trovalia 2012, which this year celebrates its ninth year, is just around the corner. From 3 to 5 August, 21 musicians from four different countries will gather in Cartagena s to give free rein to improvise poetry.
The event, presented by the Councillor for Festivities, Florentina Garcia Vargas, President of the Association Trovera Jose Maria Marin, Jose Martinez The taxi driver, and vice president of the association, Andres Marchan, has reduced the number of days, but not the desire to Cartagena to become a role model in this art.
The event, organized by the Association Celebration Trovera Jose Maria Marin, will bring together musicians and repentistas of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama and Spain.
The program will begin on August 3 at 22 am in the Town Hall Square where they held the individual presentation of the various forms of this art in the four South American countries and regions participating Spanish, united by the magic of poetry sudden and improvised.
On Saturday, the festival will move to Isla Plana, specifically at the door of the Church, to celebrate, finally, closing again on Sunday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
The program, according to association president Trovera, is luxurious and will have very good singers.
These include the queen of the tenth Tomasita Quiala, the repentista Luis Paz known as Papillo, the troubadour Isidro Fernandez or Arcadio Decimista Camano, among others.
The Association Trovera Jose Maria Marin was born in 1992.
The name of this institution comes in recognition of the figure of José María Marín Martínez, great troubadour of the past who was born in La Palma.
In this troubadour is due the great success of the institute have achieved maximum perfection in improvisation of verses, demanding to himself, as his contemporaries the most rigorous respect for the rules in poetry, besides being the troubadour most famous and admired of his time.
Trovalia program 2012 is as follows:
Cuba: The Queen of the Tenth Tomasita Quiala, the Peace Luis repentista Papillo and Raul Herrera Poet Hat.
Puerto Rico: The Troubadour Isidro Fernandez, cuatro Tony Rivera and guitarist Carlos Martinez.
Panama: The Camano Decimista Arcadio, the Decimista Jasmine Muñoz and violinist José Augusto Broce.
Spain: Jose Maria Martinez The driver, Andres Marchan, Juan Santos The Baranda, Francisco Ponce The Harrier, Anfonso Conesa The Levantine, Paco Pedroza, Elizabeth Nicholas, Joseph Bermudez Baker, Juan Martínez and Juan Noguera Mergo The Llanito.
