This is the third year running that the solar boat of WWF takes to the sea to visit the Spanish Mediterranean coast with his campaign marine Discover your paradise, and this journey, passing through Alicante, Murcia, Almeria and Granada, has brought today to Cartagena, which will disclose, among locals and visitors, the natural wealth of our coastal ecosystems, threats and proposals for their protection and conservation.
WWF, an organization whose goal is the conservation of nature, seen as key the declaration of new Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Cartagena, like Cape Tiñoso-La Azohía, conservation priority area for its representativeness, uniqueness and high marine biodiversity .
In addition, stress the importance of prioritizing the protection of the marine reserves of fishing interest (RMIP).
For the development of this campaign, which calls for care and restoring the coast, the organization will collaborate more altruistic than thirty volunteers from across the country, which is responsible for encouraging participation in each of the cities.
The official opening of the campaign will take place this afternoon at 20.15 hours, in the Restaurant Mare Nostrum, which will be attended by the Councillor for Tourism and Environment of the City of Cartagena, Palazón Carolina.
