The Fishermen's Association of Cartagena starts today celebrating the feast of the Virgen del Carmen with a series of religious events that will culminate on Monday 16 July with the Grand Procession Marinera.
So, this afternoon at 20.00 hours, will begin a Triduum in honor of the Virgen del Carmen in the church of St. James's district of Santa Lucia, which will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
By Monday, when we celebrate the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, is the big day, starting at 7 am with the Flowered by Diana fishing village.
At 9.00 hours, is hosting an event as usual, lots of fish delivered to welfare centers in the city, in the Fish Market.
In the afternoon at 18.30 pm and held a Mass in the church of St. James, to be attended by district councilors, Isaiah Camarzana and Maria Jose Roca.
Then, about 19.30 hours, the celebrations culminate with the Grand Procession Fish, in which the Virgin is moving from the church to the fishing pier, where will their traditional tour aboard the Kalima always, accompanied an escort of boats decorated for the occasion.
Following tradition, in the course of travel is throw a bunch of flowers as a memorial to those killed in the sea.
