From UPyD believe that despite the progress in various parts of the world in terms of rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT), there is still much to do.

We want to make our commitment to all those groups and individuals who, day after day, working to remove all obstacles to equality and freedom among all people.

We do this especially those who make that progress possible in Cartagena.

We are opposed to the "cures" of homosexuality, homophobic sermons against bishops, and oppose the constitutional challenge that maintains the People's Party against Equal Marriage.

Union, Progress and Democracy has been active, and defending actions in all institutions for Equal Marriage, for the favorable development of measures to promote the adoption of children by homosexual couples, comprehensive care for transgender people in public health, and always against homophobia.

We have done all that we have Council representation on the Region of Murcia, in the Congress of Deputies, and where we are in the European LGBT Intergroup members.

Cartagena UPyD Coordinator, Fulgencio Egea, stressed that "from Cartagena, and the same dynamic that has made UPyD in Spain, continue to defend and support all measures that are of equality and freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender . "
