The director of the Municipal Institute of Social Services, Antonio Mule, and the president of the Federation of Senior Citizens Clubs, Mary Beteta, presided today at the site of the Federation of Senior Citizens Clubs in the municipality, situated in the Barrio de la Concepción, the awards ceremony of the Fourth Municipal Petanque Championship, which won the championship of the Senior Citizens Club of Vista Alegre.
On the second and third place went to the Club of José María Lapuerta, and the fourth has become of the Senior Club Alums.
The tournament began on February 20 and has had the participation of eleven teams, belonging to the senior centers of Alum, Vista Alegre, Barrio de la Concepción, Los Barreros, Virgen de la Caridad, Mills Marfagones, José M ª Lapuerta , and Home III, whose pitch fields have played a hundred games.
The fourth edition of City Petanque Championship is organized by the Federation of Associations and Centres for older people in the municipality, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Services.
The aim is to promote the active participation of older people in traditional sports activities, promote the acquisition of healthy habits and promote social relations between adults.
