Intercultural Youth Centers belonging to the Immigration Program at the Municipal Institute of Social Services, on Thursday held a meeting with the elite athlete Andrew Lledó (Cartagena, 1980), the first Spanish athlete to participate in the 4Desert, a global challenge which is to complete 250 miles in solitary self-sufficiency in each of the planet's most extreme deserts.
The athlete Cartagena taught the youth how to prepare physically and mentally for this type of challenge, the material you need to bring and how to live a race from within, through the display of some videos that show the effort and sacrifice involved in this sport.
The activity was organized by the Program Administration (Approach to Sport à ‰ lite) of the Department of Sports, which has been working closely with several courses Intercultural Centers, making it easier for young carers known to them that sports and athletes , which is very motivating for them.
The meeting, held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, attended by more than one hundred men of the Centers, and a group of kids in the neighborhood of San Anton.
To finish the event, youth flattered the athlete with a mural and a bracelet made ​​by them with the word champion, to take her into their challenges and give it strength.
