Local Police of Cartagena on Wednesday surprised a man aged 26, resident of Cartagena, he drove with a large displacement motorcycle by Beltrí Victor Avenue, Highway direction Palma, more than triple the rate established for this route.
The incident occurred about 17.30 hours, when the vehicle radar of the local police, located on the service road of that avenue, spotted a motorcyclist traveling at 168 kilometers per hour when the speed limit of this avenue is 50 miles per hour, which is the third crime in the city for speeding so far this year.
The motorcycle driver was stopped and identified by a unit driver and accused of an alleged crime against road safety, following the investigation of the judicial rulings.
The current Criminal Code punishes such offenses by imprisonment from 3 to 6 months, a fine of from 6 to 12 months to work for the benefit of the community and in any case, withdrawal of driving license for motor vehicles and motorcycles for longer than 1 and up to 4 years.
