The proposed Museum Night at the Museum of Military History Cartagena tour the first third of the twentieth century through the film shot in the city between 1903 and 1935, with the music of the time by the Band of the Third of Levante Marine Corps.
With the title of Cartagena, a city symphony (1903-1935), the Museum Night has been scheduled at the Museum of Military History (Artillery Park) showing a series of films to be invaluable documentary made ​​in Cartagena between 1903 and 1935, including as main reasons for panoramic city views, visits by Alfonso XIII and the processions of Holy Week.
This is a compilation of older images that remain from the shot in Cartagena, some more than a century.
Projections accompany the silent music of the Band of the Third Marine Lift, consisting of eighty musicians under the direction of Captain James Enguídanos, head of sound to the projection.
This veteran, beloved and prestigious musical training has been chosen for their special relationship with the city of Cartagena.
The music will interpret all of the time, from popular music of Cartagena (the Bald Parrot, the March of the Grenadiers, the Idle Speed ​​of Oliver), military music related to the visit of Alfonso XIII in Cartagena (Oquendori, Marching, Guard Abarderos), quotes a Does Sighs of Spain ¿, etc..
This activity will over night in two passes at 22.45 h and 00.00 h, so that it can be enjoyed by a large public.
To begin, there will be a round table with the title of Cartagena through cinema (1903-1935), with the participation of teachers in film history Juan Francisco Ceron (University of Murcia) and Manuel Nicholas (Centre City Light-Alicante-).
The conference will feature special Alfonso Santos Garcia, projectionist, film historian and restorer of Cartagena.
