A Civil Guard officer, off duty performed humanitarian service related to the burning of a house in the town of Cartagena, directing the evacuation of the building and actively participating in the blaze.
Last March, a Civil Guard, while traveling from his workplace to his home looked like a building located on Calle Ruben Dario of the resort, through a window left a lot of smoke and a neighbor asked so desperate for help.
Quickly, the agent, who was off duty, went to the building making their way up the stairs to the neighbors who were terrified, disoriented and who sought to save themselves, having to reassure them and evacuate them to the entrance of the building.
He then returned to the house where the fire was located on the fourth floor and found inside a marriage that desperately tried to quell the flames, and proceeded to cut the electricity and work with residents to control the fire , with the risk of suffocation due to heavy smoke that was in the house.
Finally the fire was extinguished by a fire crew, without worrying about injury.
The selfless work and immediate response of the Guardia Civil, with a high degree of professionalism and sense of duty, allowed to salvage a large number of people affected, fire control and thus prevent the production of more serious consequences.
