The Chief of Police of the City of Cartagena, Carlos Nieto, has asked the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, termination of their functions to take up his post in Madrid as an inspector of the National Police.

With this decision, Carlos Nieto is raised further progress in their careers after having covered a period developed the objectives entrusted to him as Director General of Security.

The Local Government will implement the termination, at its request, at its meeting on Friday 27 April.

The municipal government has no plans cumbrir his post with a new appointment.

The powers that be had been playing so far undertaken by the Councillor for Public Safety, Mariano García Asensio.
