On April 7, died in Madrid the famous jurist and favorite son of Cartagena, Manuel Albaladejo Garcia, at 92 years of age.
Mayor Pilar Barreiro, on behalf of the Municipal Corporation has transferred to his widow and children regret and sympathy.
Manuel Albaladejo Garcia, born in Cartagena in 1920, was an eminent professor of Civil Law, Doctor of Law from the Universities of Madrid and Bologna, and Professor of Civil Law at the Universities of Oviedo, Barcelona and Madrid.
His written work includes numerous articles and manuals of law that formed the basis for the formation of thousands of students in Spanish universities.
In 2001, in recognition of his extraordinary merits, was named Favorite Son of Cartagena.
To his credit also had the Grand Cross of Alfonso X the Wise and the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia and was a member of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence.
