Salvador Santiago, physiotherapist Real Cartagena, in his latest article published under the title: "Stabilization of the core and preventive work in futsal," presents a general working method aimed at athletes for the primary purpose of explaining a new concept developed in the last decade in the sports physical realm which is called "Core".
"It's a new concept that refers to the core musculature of the body," says Valladolid adding that it is "a deep muscle that provides stability and protection to our spine and pelvis."
In the field of rehabilitation, Core training works to restore lumbar spine injuries, achieving a better posture and reduced risk of injury.
However, in sport, reveals Santiago Pescador "you work for greater stability, better and more efficient movement, better balance, coordination, strength, muscle mass and above all neuromuscular control."
