The creator of the expedition, Miguel de la Quadra Salcedo, stresses the importance of the history of Cartagonova in the world and has told the Mayor Pilar Barreiro its intention that the 300 routers know the city
Three years have passed since the last time you went through the Ruta Quetzal Cartagena.
This summer will do so again, as he has reported this morning the journalist and adventurer Miguel de la Quadra Salcedo to Mayor Pilar Barreiro.
The history of Spain is in Cartagena and Cartagena spoke very little, has secured the creator of the expedition.
The routers will arrive on July 19th boat to Cartagena, having previously visited Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) and the rest of the forests in the area.
The Ruta Quetzal involved about 300 young adventurers among teachers and students who will be away from home learning about other cultures from 1 June to 25 July.
During his short stay in Cartagena, the routers will visit the Roman Theatre, among other sites and know the history of the city where he lived Hannibal and Hasdrubal Imilce.
The expedition will serve young people between 16 and 17, in the words of de la Quadra, to discover the world in an itinerant university.
The Ruta Quetzal is a project sponsored by the King Juan Carlos I, supported by the European Union and universal interest declared by UNESCO.
Throughout its 33 years of life (27 editions), Ruta Quetzal has managed to unite more than 8,000 young people between 16 and 17 years, traveling more than 20 countries to show the wonders of Latin American culture and civilizations and their commonalities and their contrasts with Spain.
