Among the semifinals of strings and brass begin on Tuesday March 20 with the form of wind and brass. The competition, organized by the Department of Youth and the Music Conservatory of Cartagena this year celebrates its fifth edition.
From next week, 95 young people who have submitted to the contest will show the public and the jury her acting abilities in the modalities of brass, percussion, string, voice, woodwinds, piano and guitar.
The competition consists of two phases, a playoff and final taking place the first during the month of March and the finals in April in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena kicking off the semifinals at 18 pm, except in the form of Brass and Woodwinds, which begin one hour before concerts, and the finals will be at 19 hours.
Admission to the concert is free to fill seats.
Participants interpreted two classic pieces of free choice and different styles.
As for the awards, handed out 7,700 euros.
The first prize in each category is 750 euros and the second 350.
And this year also has been included yet another award, a Special Mention for Young value, with which the jury may give a mention to children under 15 years, recognizing his work and performance quality.
The Awards and Closing Concert will be held on May 4 in the Auditorium and Convention Centre, the Batel, a place where it will announce the verdict of the jury in each of the modalities.
In the awards Miguel à ngel Ros Soto (I prize in the string of the last edition of the competition) will play the cello accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
The event will close at the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.
