In order to reduce accidents, the Traffic Department will start from Monday 5 to Sunday 18 March, a new campaign to raise awareness and monitoring of distractions while driving.
Cartagena Local Police will join this campaign to control and educate citizens, not just the misuse of mobile phones while driving, but also the danger that involves other distractions, such as manipulation of the browser or the radio and smoking while driving.
For one week, the traffic police, increase controls, ensuring that drivers do not use these devices while driving and also try to inform those who have not yet compliant to raise awareness of the danger involved in handling of these devices.
Remember to drive manually using mobile devices, browser or any other communication system and wear helmets, headphones or other devices that reduce the binding constant attention on driving, are classified as serious violations of Article 65 of the Road Safety Act , and carrying with it a penalty of 200 euros and the withdrawal of 3-point driving license.
