The Governing Council has adopted the definition of environment protection Aguirre Palace of Cartagena.
The space includes the parcel where the property is located and all public spaces that surround it.
This measure ensures the visual protection of the palace, which is declared a cultural monument by category since 2007.
The Palacio de Aguirre is a modernist construction of the Architect Victor Beltrí.
The work began in 1898 and ended in 1901.
The façade highlight the ceramic decoration of angels above, the viewpoint, the sculptural decoration of bees and ceramic dome.
Inside are still some original units, among which the ballroom, decorated neorrococó, Cecilio Pla and paintings on the ceiling depicting an allegory of Spring.
It also kept the office overlooking the gazebo, the lobby, grand staircase and the neo-Gothic chapel.
It now houses the Regional Museum of Modern Art (Muram), opened in 2009.
