The Local Police of Cartagena has reported a total of 57 vehicles during the last special road safety campaign for the control and monitoring of trucks and vans, which has developed between 13 and 19 February, a national campaign that carried out in collaboration with the Directorate General of Traffic.
Among the different districts of the municipality, 717 vehicles were examined, of whom 703 were domestic and 14 foreign, to ensure that they complied with the law and improve their safety.
The main sanctions made ​​during this period corresponded to speeding, with a total of 14 complaints, 8 technical deficiencies in the ITV, 2 complaints for not using seat belts or 4 regarding the documentation of the vehicles.
The agents have controlled especially the use of seat belts, excessive speed or security of cargo, besides the obvious controls documentation.
It also has emphasized the driving times and rest and breath tests have been performed.
Remember that the rate of alcohol allowed for professional drivers of vehicles for transport of goods is 0.3 grams per liter of blood, or 0.15 milligrams per liter of exhaled air.
As for the surveillance of elements more directly related to road safety, have special relevance controls the lights, tires and speed control and drugs.
With this campaign, the local police, working with DGT, aims to raise awareness among drivers of trucks and vans on the importance of extreme caution, as they are one of the groups most at risk on the road.
