Local police is conducting in collaboration with the Directorate General of Traffic, a new campaign of surveillance and control of vans and trucks, which began Monday and runs until Sunday 19 February.
The purpose of this action is to raise awareness to the group of professional drivers, one of the most exposed daily to the demands of the road, to take precautions and develop safe behaviors.
During this campaign, officers will place special emphasis on verifying the technical and safety elements of the vehicle, weight and conditioning of the load, tire condition and proper functioning of lights.
Also, examine the documentation of the vehicles (transportation card, ITV) to check that meets the service to which it applies.
It also will monitor and control violations they may commit these vehicles, such as speeding, invasion of the oncoming traffic, not respecting the right of way or not keeping a safe distance.
