The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, visited this afternoon the new multipurpose center Canteras.
In his tour of the facilities has been accompanied by members of associations that have established their headquarters there and have shown their satifacción, with a good number of representatives of the government team, among which were the council area Decentralization, Nicholas Angel Bernal, Social Care, Antonio Calderon, of Culture, Rosario Montero Women, Clara Heredia, and Barrios, Alonso Gómez López, Isaiah Camarzana and Diego Ortega.
The new Multipurpose Center Canteras, built with funds from Plan E, is Carrascalejo street, next to the sports, and is, in the words of the mayor, to respond to the needs of the local associations and surroundings; as hosts for the elderly, women, groups of Carnaval, Popular University courses and SKIP.
The mayor praised the modular construction system that allows independent operation of each of these associations and municipal services.
Barreiro has also highlighted the design of the architect who has provided the facilities of an excellent light and views.
This is a one-story building, recently built, since the work was completed in August 2011.
It occupies an area of 450 square meters, distributed in seven halls with their windows, porches and sunrooms, three toilets and two warehouses.
Its cost has been hovering around 466,000 euros.
The multipurpose facility will complement the facilities that the city of Cartagena has Quarries, as the social club, located on Main Street, and which is headquartered neighborhood association.
Following the site visit the mayor held a meeting with the media, which responded on topical issues such as the moratorium on nuclear plants, the social criticism of the government's policy of Spain in water, the rail link with Madrid and the future of the grant of the Cartagena-Vera motorway.
