The Regents of the Planning Department has this morning approved the budget for this autonomous body of the City of Cartagena in 2012, which stood at 8,689,758 euros.
The budget, which has had with the abstention of PSOE, IU and Citizens Movement, still must be ratified by the Governing Board and the Plenary Hall.
As explained by the Town Planning, Joaquín Segado, Management budgets for 2012, decreasing again for another year, and consolidates the cost containment policy undertaken since 2008, which initiated the municipal plan of adjustment.
This reduction is in nearly half a million euros compared to 2011, which was 9,117,000 euros.
The biggest decline starting to experiment with respect to 2011 is the staff, a 7.65 per cent.
In this sense, the council has said that this is possible by a reduction of the workforce due to retirements that have not been covered and temporary contracts, which have not been renewed.
Thus from the 123 workers who had the management in 2008, will 99 in 2012.
Another unique data provided by the council is to reduce the contribution made by the City Council this organism to supplement the income obtained by the urban rates.
In 2008 this contribution was six million euros, while in 2012 this contribution is reduced by half and is three million, closer to its self-financing.
