The Red Cross Regional Assembly and the Department of Social Services to work in concert to address the elderly and disabled in the municipality with a new vehicle adapted, this morning presented to the media the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, President of Cross Red, Gabriel Ruiz, and the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
The new adapted vehicle has been acquired through social allowances from the income tax and is added to the Red Cross fleet of Cartagena, but will work in coordination with the Department of Social Services as they used to transport elderly or disabled who need for day care centers in the city, as indicated by the mayor.
The vehicle has seating for seven seats and is fully accessible to disabled systems to secure the wheelchair ramp folding camera control as well as space for users to be accompanied by a caregiver.
Councillor for Social Care is an example of the importance of bringing all human and material resources available to a common project that is simply serving the needy.
Antonio Calderon has also ensured that the items aimed at social action will remain priorities in municipal budgets.
Looking ahead to the holiday season to serve the needy, Calderon has advanced in recent months have seen an increase in other kinds of poverty, those who for shame not go to soup kitchens or social care services .
To curb this trend, said the councilman, is necessary to provide support and services to meet the basic needs of all citizens.
