With blue balloons and lit a symbolic landmark buildings, Cartagena yesterday celebrated World Diabetes Day, to give its support to nearly 30,000 people suffering from this disease in the municipality.
Dozens of people participated in the afternoon at a ceremony in the Town Hall where the facade of the Palace Hall was stained for a few minutes the blue color, distinctive of diabetes.
Then the participants began a march led by Councilman Social Care, Antonio Calderon, president of the Diabetic Society of Cartagena and Shire, sodium, Maria Dolores Garcia Ros, who walked the main streets of downtown to reach the Regional Assembly, whose facade also wore blue.
From there, read the manifesto by the International Diabetes Day, which closed the evening with the release of blue balloons and a concert by the rock & roll Cutie and The Sharks.
X acts by Diabetic Week continues through Saturday November 19 with a series of lectures about the disease and its treatments, to be held in the auditorium of the ARQUA.
