Cartagena City Council will meet on Saturday, November 12th to vote for the Four Saints, San Isidoro, San Leandro, San Fulgencio and Santa Florentina, in the Church of Santa María de Gracia, coinciding with the feast of the Virgen del Rosell, former mistress of the city.
The tradition of this vote goes back to the night of November 24, 1694, the day of Santa Catalina, when a storm hit the city and nearly destroyed.
Miraculously it was not so and attributed their salvation to the prayers that went to Cartagena Four Saints and the Virgin of the Rosell.
The Corporation decided to make every year an act of gratitude to the Four Saints and the Virgin of the Rosell, which has been ongoing since then, first in the old cathedral and later in Santa Maria de Gracia.
Votive function, as it is known, will be held at the Offertory of the Eucharist who will officiate the vicar general of the Diocese of Cartagena, Juan Tudela Garcia.
The charge of making the offering will be the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, who, after his address to the altar, deposited a basket of flowers at the foot of the relics of four saints and kiss.
At the end of the Eucharist will take place the traditional ceremony of exaltation to the Virgen del Rosell, with an opening speech delivered Sunday Bastida, older brother Mako, and a wreath by the authorities, civil organizations, brotherhoods, associations, religious associations, faithful and devotees in general.
