The Finance Briefing Committee, meeting in extraordinary session at noon today under the chairmanship of the Councillor responsible for the area, Fatima Suanzes, has ruled favorably on the request for a financing line ICO-2011 Local Authorities, for the cancellation of outstanding obligations payment of local entities resulting from the acquisition of supplies, works or services by businesses and the self prior to April 30, 2011.
The proposal has received the favorable votes of popular groups, the United Left and mixed, and the initial abstention PSOE.
As explained Suanzes Fatima is the request for a loan of 8.6 million euros, which will be used to pay debts to suppliers recognized that were pending application to the budgets of 2010 and 2011.
All these bills have been reviewed by the Municipal Accounting Office, which has made ​​the list and found not to exceed the limit that marks the Ministry of Finance to request the loan, which is one of those 8.6 million euros.
Most of the bills relate to supplies, works and services of small and medium enterprises: some 3,000 bills amounting to about seven million euros.
The rest, amounting to EUR 1.6 million, comes from the completion of the Auditorium and Congress Centre, in particular, stage equipment, general and urbanization work outside the building.
The councilor explained that this funding Official Credit Institute (ICO) puts the State at the disposal of municipalities to provide them with liquidity and preferred to pay their debts to small and medium enterprises.
The request must be made ​​before December 1 and has an exceptional character as it is a kind treasury operation, instead of in a year, can be amortized within three with a fixed annual interest of 6 percent.
