The Women and Youth Councillors have decided to join this year in the fight against domestic violence, organizing a program of activities to commemorate the 25th November the International Day Against Violence Against Women, who have made ​​responsible for both areas, Clara Collado Heredia and Ruth, along with Patrick Hernandez, coordinator of Youth.
Gender violence is there, despite the harsh media campaigns that bombard us, so from the Department of Women, through the CAVI (Center for Victims of Violence), we work all year and now, on the occasion of this key date, we also had the support of Youth, noted Clara Heredia, who has pointed out a fact, and that the CAVI has served since early this year to 415 women of Cartagena and its region, of which 140 were still being treated with the psychologist, social worker and lawyer of the Center.
To Ruth Collado, the involvement this year of his Department has a clear objective to sensitize young people and promote responsibility to facilitate the eradication of gender violence in the not too distant future.
Within the package of organized activities, which will run from today until November 30, there will be workshops, competitions, panel discussions and information tables, in addition to the traditional reading of the manifesto, which will take place on November 25 as listed Patricio Hernandez, who has highlighted the increasing involvement of men in this type of action, which will be implemented with a circle of men, symbolic act by the Association of Men for Gender Equality.
